For Kids: Both sides of the American Revolution had spies. Some spies carried messages. Other reported everything they heard. Still others spread propaganda and lies. ome did all three. Many spies were women. If a spy was caught, man or woman, they were usually hung or shot. But not all spies were caught. Depending upon your point of view, spies either did a great deal of damage, or a great deal of good.
